What a difference three days make!! Bears were embarrassed by Monday night's drab victory and determined to make amends. They got out of the blocks very quickly indeed as they hustled and harried their opponents into making simple mistakes. Liam and George led the offensive and defensive charges as Bears romped to a 12-2 lead after 6 minutes as they looked a completely different side from the previous game. This time, instead of surrendering the lead, Bears pressed on and maintained their advantage, conceding only 6 points in the quarter.
Bears continued their defensive pressure in the 2nd, and moved out to an 18 point lead. Three back-to-back treys from the students saw them recover a little bit, but a quick timeout snuffed out that spark and Bears got back down to business. Increasing the advantage to 15 by half time.
Bears were unstoppable at the start of the 3rd, as they went on a 16-0 run, including 12 fast break points from George. It took the home side until the 6 minute of the quarter before they added to their half-time score, but it was too little too late as Bears continued to impress.
The fourth saw a complete change of playing personnel as the 5 who finished the 3rd made way for 5 fresh players, but that was the only real change as went on a 7-0 run to get the scoreboard ticking along. A couple of scores for the students was followed by an 11-0 run for the Bears as they showed their strength in depth and complete dominance. A few baskets were traded at the death, but the game had long since been over.
A fantastic team performance from everyone in a Bears shirt tonight. Everyone was awesome and stuck to their assignments throughout.
BEARS ROCK!!
