To say the Bears started slowly would be an understatement. The first quarter ended 20-4, with all 4 Bears points coming from Simon Colley. Nothing was going right for the away team, whilst Solent could not miss, with their national league players scoring for all over the floor.
Bournemouth re-grouped for the 2nd quarter with Dan Park and Mark 'George'
Ghibril pressuring the Solent guards leading to scores on the fast break and Woody made his precence felt inside, scoring and rebounding. The Bears
made a strong finish to go into the half trailing ?-?.
The pressure defence contiued in the 3rd quarter, frustrating Solent into a number of turnovers, offensive fouls and a technical foul. Captain Liam Wyatt and Mark Sanderson started hitting their shots and Bournemouth roared back, going into the final period down 2 points.
The 4th quarter went back and forth, each team leading the game. The Bears pressure defence, noisy bench and fans silenced the one roudy Solent crowd.
Up by 3 with 1 minute Solent thought they had the game won the game, Liam Wyatt hit a tough basline fadeaway to cut their lead to 1 with 1 minute left. Unfortunately that was the closest they would get as Solent hit 3/4 free throws in the final minute.
